Conferences are coming up!

PARENT -TEACHER CONFERENCE TIME!

Dear Families,
It’s time for parent-teacher conferences!  I am excited to meet with each of you to discuss your child’s progress!  Conferences are being scheduled the week of October 31st. November 2nd and 3rd are early release days.  Conferences will be about 15 minutes each.   Please fill out the form below and return it to school by Thursday, October 27th. Make your choices by ranking them 1st, 2nd, or 3rd choice and I will do my best to accommodate your needs.  If you are scheduled for a meeting with the school within the next few weeks due to an Individual Education Plan (IEP) meeting, it is not necessary for you to attend an additional meeting as we can combine the conference with that meeting.  Thank you for your cooperation! I look forward to meeting with you!
Melissa

Today's Morning Meeting Sharing: If I Had a Million Dollars

  • I'd save for college, buy a house and have three rescue cats.  I'd also save enough money to have them neutered.
  • I'd buy a house, a car, a dog, and I'd replace my computer
  • I'd buy a pit bull and a truck
  • I'd buy a chimpanzee
  • I'd pay the rent and bank the rest of the money
  • I'd buy an apartment building and a restaurant with a house in it
  • I'd give the money to a homeless shelter
  • I'd help my mom pay her rent
  • I'd give all the money to my mom
  • I'd buy a marmoset and a bunny
  • I'd help people get back on their feet
  • I'd use mine for groceries
  • I'd buy airspace defense
  • I'd give half of it to healthcare and then buy a camera
  • Pay the bills
  • Hire a private nurse for my grandma
  • Invent a tube like they have at the bank so I could go visit my family easily and quickly
  • I'd hire a personal assistant
  • I'd stock food pantries
  • I'd buy three houses  - one in Florida, one for my son and his three kids, and one for my other son in the Dominican Republic (he has to travel there a lot)
  • I'd buy a house in Prince Edward Island and then invest the rest and give the interest to charitable causes

The Fourth Day of School

Today in Daily 5, we learned how to pick good fit books. To help us pick good fit books, we use the acronym I-Pick. I-Pick stands for Independent, Purposeful, Interest, Comprehend, and Know.

Welcome to Class!

Welcome back to school! Tomorrow, August 31st, 2016, we'll gather together for the very first day of our 177 days together! Families are invited to escort their children into school at 8:05 for a meet and greet. Then, parents will be invited by Ms. Ginty to the multi-purpose room for some vittles (thank you PTO). Students, be sure to wear sneakers as we have PE and recess orientation. See you bright and early in your shiny new shoes and stiffly starched shirts!
